Swiss luxury watchmaker, Zenith, teamed up with Land Rover to create a special edition watch to celebrate the return of the brand’s offroad icon – the Defender. Called the Defy 21 Land Rover Edition, just 250 pieces will be made, released to coincide with the Defender’s arrival later this summer.
The watch features a special micro-blasted titanium case, which is marked by a distinct matte black stealth look. Adding a pop of color are orange and white painted markers. Something new for the Defy 21 model is a liner window for the power display for the 1/100sec chronograph. In the past, it’s usually been a hand.
Flip the watch over and you’ll find a specially engraved case back. The design is modeled after Land Rover’s five-spoke wheel. Peek through it and you’ll see the El Primero 21 1/100sec movement with a custom oscillating weight.
Two straps are available with the special piece. The first is an ‘Adventure’ strap, made with an all-terrain textured rubber. The other, the ‘Country’, sports grey rubber with a fabric effect and orange stitching.
The watches will be priced at $14,350.12 and available at fine retailers.
